#sonic the hedgehog#shadow the hedgehog#year of da snake babeyyy I spent the entirety of this latest lny out of my Mind#so just now I regained sentience and did. this#tbh just really wanna draw some aminals. sonic ole reliable there#okay so tracking the threads in this one.... costumes are việt phục fusion (as is my trade by now)#sonic gets a nhật bình (outer coat) and a severely shortened ngũ thân (shirt)#shadow gets a normal ngũ thân and a nón thúng (headwear)!#this is honestly all from a single thought I had a few days ago looking at shadows jet boots. I thought the upturned nose kinda has#a hanfu turn to it. and then here we are today#sonic's snakes are modeled after the southern black racer (coluber constrictor priapus)#and shadow's snake is supposed to be a central american milksnake (lampropeltis polyzona)#these are all like babynames dot net obvious ass choices lol but listen if they fit they fit#shadow's milksnake especially. cmon how can I not choose it with that coloring#anyways with that caption u probably know why sonic gets two snakes and shadow gets one. and also sonic gets the wings motif#shadow is! actually designed after a real historical viet medicine man from the 1700s#(ignore the fact that the ngũ thân would not be in fashion until the late 1700s-1800s Im just less into the giao lĩnh's collar shape!!!#my house!! its my damn house)#if u ask me why Im linking greek mythos imageries and việt phục presentation in this one I also say it's my damn house. I do what I want#other misc details: sonic's coat fastener has team sonic+amy's colors on the ribbon#shadow's mala has one clear resin bead with a dandelion bloom inside. the string decoration is in the shape of dandelion leaves#sonic's eye color leans into jade and shadow's eye color leans into amber because I'm a fucking genius and I'm good at everything#okay thats it I sleep now. and then I job some more. gnight lads happy extremely belated luner new year!!#oh yeah forgot to add this I drew việt phục bc that's just what I do but it is! convenient for these hogs specifically#that a lot of late-era việt phục is built symmetrical across with a center back seam#so modifying it for quills would have a pretty good starting point

#i think its really interesting that eigongs mentorship fundamentally changed them both#for yi i feel its pretty obvious but with goumang you can see in the flashbacks her experiments are mostly small scale#and she hadnt done anything to herself yet (i think goumang modifying herself is a lot more meaningful than a lot of people realize)#before eigong decided to appoint her to the council#and then yi and goumang ended up having this like rivalry as eigongs students#i definitely think theres more under the surface than just goumang wanted to be the favorite#she worked her way up from the ground to be there and everyone else had some sort of advantage#even yi had the blessing from fusang or whatever you want to call it to catch eigongs eye#it mustve been infuriating for goumang to have worked so hard and then feel as though she wasnt as recognized#im not trying to sympathize with goumang over yi here or anything but i think her perspective on… basically anything going on with the sols#is fascinating and criminally underexplored#i think yi and goumang wouldve gotten along in another universe actually. they are not that different#too bad they are both DEAD FOREVER!!!! though#whats also interesting to me is that yi has some sort of respect (? he wont say that hes better than her before the fight) for goumang#but he still takes the consequences of her actions pretty seriously#nine sols#goumang nine sols#yi nine sols

Made some Duskmourn cards and also thought about the upcoming set currently known as "Death Race" and got in a vehicle mood
#asks#custom cards#custom magic card#just checked and saw that the comprehensive rules update for duskmourn released. toy is indeed a creature type. not an artifact type#however: wotc is wrong and i'm better than them#anyway i have NO idea how strong Elian Purr of Unity is#i've barely gotten to use enlist so idk#the buffing effect probably isn't TOO strong since it's weaker than those “power/toughness are equal to number of creatures you control”#but 1 mana to give everything enlist? that's. big. idk if it's good but it's big#i made Kitty Joyrider because red-white and white-blue have gotten vehicle themes so i gotta complete the jeskai vehicles trio#vehicles triggering prowess is a silly little synergy that helps it crew vehicles and passing the buff onto the vehicle is cool i think#granting haste ties the whole package together. no reason for the kitty itself to have haste but it felt obligatory#i modified it just now to make it properly grant prowess so that it synergizes with combat tricks. because of course#also i'm really satisfied with Elian Cozy Plushsuit#not much to say about it i just love everything about it#oh wait i do have a thing to say! rule 208.3a#if a power/toughness changing effect is applied to a noncreature permanent the effect still applies and will work if it becomes a creature#so Cozy Plushsuit gets the buff when you tap a creature to crew it even though the trigger resolves before it becomes a creature#technically Kitty Joyrider and Veteran Motorist also take advantage of this rule but “crews a vehicle” is a little vague on timing#so you might assume the ability triggers after the vehicle becomes a creature#Anyway! the plushsuit works exactly as intended and synergizes beautifully with other vehicles#i'm not sure whether it synergizes with enlist#you tap the creature “as” you attack. does it become tapped at the same time as the attackers?#wait! 508.1f and 508.1g! tapping attackers and paying “as you attack” costs are separate steps! it synergizes!#actually 508.1g is deciding whether to pay costs. 508.1j is when you pay the costs and it says you pay them in any order#that means that multiple enlists happen separately! perfect synergy!#i had to make it “one or more” because otherwise it would be really easy to get multiple triggers just by attacking with lots of creatures#so as a side effect i get to dig around in the rules to analyze the timing of exactly when things happen#okay i'm approaching the tag limit now so bye
